After Sotheby, Phillips runs its first digital auction. The event names as 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day was divided in morning, afternoon and evening and this last was without a doubt the most relevant one since every piece found its buyer in an hour – white gloves sale.

Once again Basquiat makes the night with Victor (article cover) being sold for $9 million, having only Noël by Joan Mitchell on top of it with a value of $11 million. Important bids on modern art are currently happening through Christie’s, with pieces of Giacometti, Poliakoff and Raoul Dufy, however, all eyes are on ONE – A Global Sale set for 10th July. Picasso, Lichtenstein, Zao Wou-Ki, Magritte and Miró are some examples of artists that will be included in the auction.

GEORGE CONDO – Stump Head sold for $1m

Helen Frankenthaler – Head of the Meadow sold for $3m
